The greatest reward is to see
our BT's enjoy their new loving forever families. Cheers to the
wonderful individuals who adopt a dog through rescues and make our work
worthwhile and thanks to everyone who was involved in offering these
dogs a life that they deserve.

Just wanted to give an update on Jill (adopted July 2008). Jill is
doing great and is pleased to announce that she has a new human sister
born in June. Jill likes to curl up at the baby's feet and she likes to
steal the baby's soft blankets. We have enjoyed having Jill in our
family and we are looking forward to watching our children (all 4)
develop special bonds with her as they grow. Thank you again BTRNC for
giving us our Boston Angel!

Sparkie (renamed
Finn)
He is learning more and more
with each passing week and we have complete confidence that in time he
will be a very relaxed well trained dog. He has continued to get better
on his walks and it seems like the Pet Smart training is helping him
learn to obey us much better. We are dedicated to him and love him very
much. Fortunately it looks like Finn just needed a little extra time to
get settled into his new home. Thank you for everything you and the
BTRNC has done for him and his sweet little life. We are grateful for
all of the hard work that is done to make sure that all of the dogs get
good homes. Thank you for blessing us with our new member of the
family.
Lilo
Lilo has adapted well
to her new home. She is still a bit nervous in new environments, but
she loves people, other dogs and is great with our 2 year old son. Lilo
loves to ride in the car and enjoys sitting with my husband while he
works. She also enjoys fetching a ball and sleep in sunny spots in the
afternoon. We haven't had any GI issues since she has come home and is
an excellent eater! She is a wonderful addition to our family and we
are very grateful for the wonderful people at BTRNC. Thanks especially
to August who welcomed us into her home and chose us to be Lilo's
"forever family".
Bunny (renamed Moonpie)

Nigel

Deuce (renamed Scotch)
We
love Scotch! He has brought so much joy into our lives. We adopted him
in October 2008. He has adjusted very well to our home. He is a little
couch potato. He sits on the sofa and watches football with his daddy.
We spent Thanksgiving at Edisto Beach, SC and he loved it. He ran in
the surf and played in the sand. He is such a joy! Thanks BTRNC for
helping him find is forever home with us. We look forward to many more
memories in 2009!
Midge(renamed
Wendy)
I'm going to tell you a story to
describe how well Wendy is doing. I adopted a long-haired
dachshund from my local "pound". He was about 5 years old and the
victim of a divorce. He immediately claimed me as his person and
I adored that dog for 9 wonderful years. When I came into the
room, NOTHING could keep him away from me. My son would hold on
to him and all I had to do was give Kenny (my dog) a look and he would
struggle to get to me. It took two years before I stopped crying
every time I saw a red long-haired dachshund. Anyway, I asked
David how he liked Wendy and he said "It looks like you finally
got your Kenny-dog back". And that's exactly how I feel.
Wendy is in my lap, following me, or sleeping right up against me ALL
the time. I thought I was getting a playmate for Carrie, but what
I really got was another Kenny, and I needed that.
Update: Wendy is definitely a
Mama's girl and I'm loving it. She has really socialized well
with very little guidance to all of our family members, including the 4
other BT's. She knows all the words we use for the dogs-- her
favorites are "breakfast", "treat", and "suppertime". She runs to
the bed when we say "bedtime" and goes under the covers when we
say "night-night"--sooo cute. We feel very blessed to have Wendy
and are grateful to BTRNC for giving us the opportunity to have her in
our lives, and to you and your husband for opening your home to foster
her.
Keira

Tyson
I'm in LOVE! He is
just the sweetest, most well behaved, cuddliest little guy I've ever
had! :-) He has spent time with many other dogs since
December (always supervised) and is doing great. He no longer
lunges at other dogs when we are on the leash - he actually wants
to go up to them. He is playing all the time with his toys and
lately he and the cat have starting play with each other.
Until the cat decides he's had enough and goes away (you know how cats
are). We went on a walk yesterday and the neighbors daughter, who
is about 3, wanted to pet him. Her parents know about Tyson and
we were very cautious as she pet him. He sat there so well - although
he kept looking at me. Then he went up to her for more
attention. It was so sweet! I'm just so thankful that I
went with a rescue and that I got such a perfect match for me.
Guinness
Guinness is great!! After scaring me 1/2 to
death last January (4 days in the hospital- I wasn't sure he was going
to make it!), he is a very playful, sweet bostie. Not the
brightest bulb, but very affectionate and playful. Did I say
playful?? Most of the time, his butt is in the air, in a play
bow. He loves to play "chase me!" with the other two. He LIVES to
play ball. He also seems so grateful for everything. He
still seems amazed at mealtimes, like "wow- this is great!"
He is getting over his
thunder phobia- used to be that nothing would calm him. then he
went to hiding under the bed, then behind the recliner. Now, he's
happy in my lap, under a cover. He doesn't give kisses though-
unless it's dark, and he sneaks one on your arm under the covers.
I think he may have been punished for it. And, you would think
that for all that he's been through, he would be afraid at the
vets. Nope. He's as happy as a clam to go there- or
anywhere, for that matter. He loves his walkies, but is somewhat
afraid of the dark. I took him camping, and there was nothing you
could do to make him go out of the cabin into the dark woods. He
jumped back in the bed, as if to say "I'm fine here,
thanks." He is a total comfort hound, who loves to sleep as
close as he can to his human, and he makes the sweetest little grunting
noises as he is getting comfortable. Rub his belly, and he breaks
into a grin. Guinness does not do mornings either. there are
many mornings (especially when it's cold) that I have to carry him to
the back door. And rain?? Oh no. There's something about
rescues that were strays, and have really experienced the elements,
that once they are warm, they don't want anything to do with it ever
again.
Rosey (renamed Quincy)
Even though Quincy and her new Boston brother, Kennedy,
had a rocky start, they have grown to understand the most important
rule in any male/female combination – LADIES RULE. Quincy has
been affectionately nicknamed HRH (for Her Royal Highness) and has not
met a human that does not love her and want to smuggle her home with
them. Thankfully she loves us most of all and has decided to stay
despite her many offers of “a new home.” While she loves her
walks and to nap in the lowcountry sun, meal time is her favorite part
of the day and she always performs a little dance to show her
joy! Both Q and Kennedy also love bedtime where they fight for
the most amount of bed space (under the covers of course!!!)
Quincy is looking forward to her first holiday season in Charleston and
we are thrilled to have her as part of our family!!!
June Bug (renamed Peanut)
I wanted to let you all know
that
Peanut is doing wonderfully! It did not take long for her and Pete to
bond like brother and sister. We adopted Peanut in early June and are
very thankful we did. She is a wonderful pup who loves steal blankets
and horde all the toys. In the picture, Peanut is the pillow and Pete
is in front. As you can see, they very much enjoy to lounge around.
Peanut has gotten over a lot of her smaller issues since coming to us.
Unfortunately she has developed a mammary tumor, but the vet has high
hopes for her, so keep us in your prayers! She is definitely part of my
life and I don't think I could have gotten a better dog!
We are grateful to BTRNC for what they do and will be adopters for the
rest of our lives!

Bugsy
My husband and I are
so
happy we found Bugsy. He is such a wonderful, sweet and intelligent
dog. All of our friends and family have fallen in love
with him. He loves to cuddle and loves to be taken on walks and rides
in the car. He doesn't care for any door to be closed, so he
will just lay in front of the door and try to get his nose
under it. He loves treats. Treats make his little tail
wag. Recenty, I have noticed that he falls asleep
quickly when he is on clothes that have just come out of the
dryer. I think he loves the smell. We are so lucky to have
him in our family. Thank you !
Max
I wanted to let you know that
Max
is doing great. It was love at first sight when we saw his
picture on the internet. Now that he is here, we cannot believe
how fortunate we are. Max is the perfect fit for our
family. He is gentle with the children and is very affectionate
with all of us. He is eating and sleeping well and seems to
love running around the back yard. We are still trying to teach
him to drop the ball because he definitely loves to play catch.
There is excitement and joy all around when the kids get home from
school. Thank you so much for bringing him to us.
Davey (renamed
Spencer)
My
husband
and I adopted Davey on June 27, 2008 and he is such a joy to
US. We renamed him Spencer and he is a great companion to our
three other dogs. We have another Boston named Sable, a boxer
named Stretch and a mix named Sparks. They all love each other
and get along wonderfully...I just happened to run up on Spencer at the
vet with his foster mom (a wonderful lady) and fell in love with
him...the love of my life Sydney (another Boston) died almost two
years ago now and when I saw Spencer at the vet, somehow I knew
this dog was meant to be with me. Thank you again for what you do
and to all the foster families out there, thank you so much...
Lexi

Lexi is a joy to have around! She
is such a snuggle-bug! Here is a picture of her and her new brother,
Baxter, laying around.
Sadie
(renamed Turkie)

Turkie is doing great. She loves to play fetch
any second she gets, and is so playful with other dogs when we go to
the doggie park (she likes the big dogs much better than the little
ones). She pounds the ground with her front paws when she gets excited
around new people. Turkie definitely lets us know when she wants to go
outside and run because she will do hundred-mile/hour circles around
the house as fast as her little legs can go. Ben and I say to each
other quite frequently that we cannot believe we ended up with such an
uplifting & intelligent pup that somehow fit perfectly into the
style of our lives. Thank you so much, BTRNC foster parents and
volunteers.
Allie
She is still doing great.
We have figured out that it must be our back yard that she doesn’t like
when she has to go potty. So, we try to take both doggies for short
walks in the am and then longer in the pm to give them room and flat
ground to go! (Our back yard is a hill and I guess she doesn’t like
walking downhill to find her spot!)
She and Bosko have found
out that they like to play tug of war and keep away! As we told you
Bosko LOVES toys and even though he has a few favorites, he thinks they
all belong to him! So, even if Allie pulls one out he hasn’t seen in a
while he will try to snatch it! But she has figured out if she holds on
tight, or runs away with it, it is a fun game! She understands where
the toy basket is and that she can go there and get whatever she wants.
Also, they have found out they can do the crazy doggie run around our
dining room table until their little hearts are content. Bosko will
take a toy and Allie will chase him around the table until one of them
gets bored or needs a drink!
Thanks again for
Allie! We are all adjusting well!
Kevin
As I type this, Puggles is sitting in my lap
with his chin resting beside the keyboard. :-) We have really
bonded. He stays right by me 24/7 and I LOVE IT! He
has just fit right in - in every way. His personality is
blossoming and he gets funnier every day. For instance, he likes to sit
on the sofa or chair. But not in the seat, on the top of the back
cushion. It is hilarious!!!!!!!!!
I want him to be able
to enjoy the last 1/2 of his little life - he SO deserves it.
Whatever he needs to have done we'll do it. He is our angel dog
from heaven.
We are SO glad we
adopted him. Thank you so much for trusting us and giving us this
precious little guy.
Lily (renamed Luna)
Lily, renamed
luna, is doing great! We had a fabulous car ride with lots of cuddling,
followed by a pleasant meeting with her new brother and more cuddling
once we were in the house. She is definitely a love bug and is not
afraid to demand a lot of love from her new mommy and daddy!
Update: Just giving you
an update about Luna. She is doing great! She's been
playing friendly games of tug of war with her brother scrapper this
week and is more tolerant of "her" mommy giving affection to him as
well. She sits like a good girl now like it's old news and has
found new interest in dog treats now that she sees her brother eat
them. She wants to do everything he does! She continues to bring so much
love and laughter into my life, thank you so much for the work you and
your volunteers do.
2009 Update: She's our adventurous
angel! She has made great strides with meeting new people and
learning commands. She walks well on her leash, sits, lays down &
shakes her paw.
Luna loves to go hiking along the river near our home and has the
perfect amount of energy to enjoy all of the hiking we do in the
non-winter months. In this picture she's telling me she's done resting
and reading to hike some more :)
Currently she has enjoyed many car rides to visit human and dog friends
and when she's at home she tries to fit as many dog toys in her crate
as possible.
most of all, she LOVES doing whatever her big brother Scrapper is doing.
More pictures and her blog are on www.myspace.com/lunathebt
Thanks for this lovely addition to our family!
Sally & Daisy
I just wanted to pass
you a line to let you know how Sally and Daisy are doing, which is
awesome! Sally is quite affectionate towards my boyfriend and is
actually now preferring the male attention over mine. She is
content to lay/sit/stand as close to your body as possible and loves
giving kisses. We're finding that Daisy has two personalities -
one that's extremely laid back and reserved when you're in the house
working or watching tv and another one when there is water or walks
involved. She turns into a 2 month old puppy turning little
doggie somersaults to show us how excited she is!

Niko
Here are the two babies together...Molly
& Niko. They are awaiting a piece of apple. Don't they
look cute together? They are doing well and I am sure that Niko
will help Molly become more active which is a good thing.
Benny

Pepper
I want to thank BTRNC for
letting me adopt Pepper. He has only been with me for 2 weeks but
he and I have bonded as though we’ve been together since his birth 3
years ago. He loves to play, sleep with me and go on long
walks. He starts school in a week. He is so smart that I
know he will do well. He also will have other BT friends that he
will be able to play with often. There could never have been a
better companion for me than Pepper. He’s absolutely the best.
September 2008 Update: Pepper just graduated from obedience school
with honors. He won 2 out of 3 games and was close in the last
game. He loved socializing with his classmates and enjoys showing
what he has learned to anyone who wants to see. His foster mom,
as well as 3 friends came to his graduation. They all clapped and
cheered for Pepper and he certainly enjoyed the a ttention, as well as the special treats he
received on graduation night. Pepper loves his forever home and
his mom surely loves him.
Pixie
Pixie and I have
been together since March 25th. It was a long journey since we live in
the Boston area but, she was worth every mile I drove to meet her in
Dover, DE. Pixie and I bonded immediately, and she had no problem going
from a rural setting w/her foster family to suburban Canton, MA. We are
now soul mates, Miss Pixie filled a big void in my heart after losing
my Boston boy to a brain tumor. She's loved, spoiled, pampered and the
neighborhood Queen bee! Thank you so much for taking a chance and
letting the little girl travel to her forever home in New England!!
2009 Update: I can't
believe Pixie has been here for a year already. I love her soooo
much. Right now she's up in front of the door laying in the
sun. When the sun moves away from her pillow she comes down to my
office and jumps on me, have to go move the pillow in the sun.
What a brat! You'd never know Pixie had mange, her coat is
beautiful, more brindley every day. She still is eating Natural
Balance Sweet Potato and Salmon plus 100% Wild Salmon oil on her
breakfast every morning. We have banana and strawberry too! Pixie
is doing great, very happy and fussed over by everybody. We
survived the winter, the sub zero temps had us wearing double
layers:her insulated barn coat under her LL Bean canvass coat! We
love to walk and go about a couple of miles plus a day. I keep
looking at her saying YOU are so, neglected and abused!!! (Two beds,
two pillows, toys, 3 blankies, food/treats galore)
She looks at me and yawns!
Lucy
We have only had Lucy for two weeks but she has quickly
become a member of the family! She loves to play with her toys
and run around the back yard. She loves riding in the car
and goes everywhere we go, and she can't get enough walks! We
absolutely LOVE her! Thank you BTRNC for all of your hard work
and dedication on behalf of the animals you help and the people whose
lives you enrich by adding to their families! Lucy has definitely
found her forever home!

Babe
Just wanted to send you
a quick note on how wonderful it is to have Babe as a
member of our family! We are
all so happy to have her. She loves to play with
the kids and I give her a pretty
good run for her money too! She is great with
people and we are working on
introducing her to other dogs and teaching her to
be nice to them.
I can't thank you enough for all
you and your organization do!
Gunner

Sadie
She is the smallest dog
here
but definitely the Queen Bee. She has personality plus and her big dog
antics keep us laughing. We're so glad she decided to adopt us.
Marilynn

We have had our new girl Marilyn 3 weeks now!
She has fit right into our family. I can't begin to tell you how
blessed we feel with her, especially since she was already familiar
with ferrets! We loved her right from the start but who wouldn't? She
is such a special dog!
Karma (renamed Kayla)
|
|
Kayla is doing wonderful, she is some dog! We often say how blessed we
are to have been the ones to give her a home! She is so unique,
definitely different that any other Boston I have had. For one, instead
of a regular bark, she most of the time "woos" and it is cute and
hilarious. She kind of has to wind it up, and does it when ever she
really wants your attention, loving, or when she wants something, like
her obsession of chasing the laser light! Oh yeah, and lemme tell you,
like any other Boston, she is lick crazy! We really do love Kayla and
again we are really blessed by her!
