The greatest reward is to see
our BT's enjoy their new loving forever families. Cheers to the
wonderful individuals who adopt a dog through rescues and make our work
worthwhile and thanks to everyone who was involved in offering these
dogs a life that they deserve.

Calvin

Colby (renamed Brewer)
Shuggie
Shuggie
is great! Growing some hair after mange treatments, still stealing our
other Boston's food, and walking beautifully on the leash. She
is quite the flirt. She disappears under blankets and
cushions when she needs a break and otherwise entertains herself with
toys and digging. She is gentle with my friend's children and
bossy with our neighbor's dogs. Except for her zeal of barking at
random times during the night when she's not in her crate, we haven't
had any behavior worries. OK, she does have a fixation with
birds and dead bugs, but really, who doesn't? We could not be more
surprised and more pleased with adding her to the family. I can't
believe that she waited so long for a permanent family.
Sparkie (renamed Finn)
Finn has grown leaps
and bounds since our first few weeks with him. He absolutely loves
people and can hardly contain his excitement when he sees them. He has
made best friends with the neighbor dog and they have play dates just
about eveyday and he always loves visits with family so he can play
with their dogs. He goes with us pretty much everywhere we go. Weekend
trips, day trips, and even lunch at the park a couple days a week. He
adores our niece and nephew and licks them from head to toe! They
scream and laugh and love it! He loves cuddling on the couch every
night or anytime for that matter. He has truly become the family dog we
dreamed of and can't imagine him not being a part of our lives.
Bogey
Bogey has been doing very well. He and Sparky
get along like Champs although I have to calm Bogey down from time to
time since he still has all that puppy energy (would love to have some
of that myself some days). He is picking up on the house training
pretty well too. He learned that if he does his business outside, he
gets a treat. It is so funny when he finishes up, he sits right in
front of you and looks up for his reward.
We really look forward to continuing to make him a very happy little
man. He loves all of Sparky's toys so he definitely does not have to
look far for something to play with. He is really developing into his
own. I will continue to forward you photos I get to take of Bogey's big
adventures!
Maxroy (renamed Colin)
Colin is very loving and
affectionate and has adjusted very well to his new home. He loves to sun himself on the deck and play ball. He has
learned how to shake hands, lay down, and how to take over the
couch after a long day of playing! He enjoys walks but
enjoys meeting every dog that passes by even more. He is very active
and shows no signs of ever having been injured in the car accident that
brought him to BTRNC. Our 9-yr-old dog, Max, wasn't sure about Colin at
first but is growing to like him. Colin is very good at trying to help
Max understand that he just wants to play and they are starting to play
tug and jointly fetch toys. In the month that he's been part of our
lives, they've made great strides! We would like to thank
BTRNC (and especially his foster mom) for the opportunity to give Colin
a loving home. We couldn't ask for a better companion.
Quincy
Quincy is a happy guy who loves nothing more than to
snooze in the sun and patrol the deck for lizards.
He has settled in nicely and we just love him to bits! Quincy loves to
snuggle under the covers with us in the morningsand in the afternoons
he loves to chase his kong all over the house (sometimes a little too
much! He just can't help himself!!)
We are so happy you gave us the chance to make Quincy part of our
little family. And I think Quincy is too. He truly is an american
gentleman. :)

Freddie is so
sweet, we love him very much. He is my passport to BTRNC and I love him
for that, too. We are still having some problems but nothing we think a
bit of obedience training won't help. |

Connor

Bailey (renamed Raleigh)
Everything is going very well at
our house. She has settled in very well as our newest family
member. I think she really knows she's in a good home where
she'll be loved and taken care of for life! Her and Washy are
still getting used to each other, but enjoy snuggling on the couch
together with me for some relaxing times! Most of all they like
to soak up the sunshine lounging outside or in the sunroom
together! She is still fearful of really loud noises, but
comes running to give kisses when we get home or wake up in the morning
and has really opened up to socializing. She LOVES to
kiss!! I thank you, the transportation volunteers and everyone at
BTRNC for all that you do and for allowing Raleigh a second chance
at total happiness.
Spice

Spice
has been adapting and behaving wonderfully. We haven't have any
real issues with her since she arrived. She hasn't even had an
accident in the house yet.
She and Domino are getting along well and play and wrestle
together. Domino is very patient with her.
Weylon

Malorie
I just wanted to write to tell you that we
are all IN LOVE with Miss Malorie. What a little babydoll! In the short
time since she's been here, she has settled in like she's been here for
years. Hunter, the kids and I are all amazed at what a happy
well-adjusted pup she is, and I know that's in large part to your
loving fostering of her. She has such a sunny disposition, and what a
little kissy monster! She has spent the past two nights burrowed under
the covers at the foot of our bed. ...she is in a very loving home, and
we already love her so much.
Collette

Collette was renamed
Pearl for her personality. She is extremely timid and delicate.
It is as if she has lived her whole life trapped inside
a seashell. She needs alot of love, protection, patience and
tenderness and she has found that haven in her new forever home. My 7
year old Boston Macy is very independent and secure so Pearl
can have all the TLC she needs from her new mommy. Pearl fits in
perfectly here. Our home is quiet and comfortable. She has her human
mommy when I'm home and a second mommy in Macy when I'm gone. She has
alot to learn about socialization and potty training and Macy is great
leadership in those regards. Pearl is home. Now healing can
occur. It will only take time and we have all the time in the world.
Welcome home Pearl, we've been waiting for you!
Millicent

Daysi
(renamed Gracie)
Alexis
(renamed Penelope)
Things are great,
Penelope adjusted so well. She is so smart and quick to learn new
tricks. She knows how to get out of her crate and has even figured out
how to get a twisty-tie off the latch. She and the cats a getting along
well, Penelope tries to play with them all the time. She loves car
rides, and going to Petsmart and meeting new friends.
LuLu (renamed Betty)

A couple of months ago we lost our
first well loved BT that we had adopted from BTRNC years back. My
husband and I had talked about adopting again at some point in the
distant future, but without a concrete plan. But a confluence of
factors having to do with timing and work, it seemed that the time had
come sooner rather than later and as soon as we took a look at the
website and saw a dog with the same name as our first “little
girl” it was game over.
Betty, (formerly Lulu) had a story that was
irresistible. She had been found in a home that ASPCA deemed to
be “hoarding dogs” and was so bad they had to do an
intervention and seize the dogs. Betty was the only Boston
Terrier and was immediately taken in by BTRNC. She was too
skinny, had worms and needed work on house training. Her foster
moms took wonderful care of her – putting some weight on her,
getting her to the vet, crate-trained and housetrained. I could
tell that she had quickly gotten used to love from females, she took
immediately to me when we brought her home, but she barked at my
husband for a day.

It’s
been
a
couple
months
and
even
though
I
think
she
was
a
little
disoriented
and
sad at leaving her foster moms at first,
she has grown to love us and has gotten used to the good life of a
spoiled only dog pretty darn quick. She now follows us around the
house like a shadow, keeping one or both of us in sight at all
times. The minute we sit down on the couch, she leaps up and
claims her spot on our laps for belly rubs. After we gave her a
basket full of toys, she sorted out which ones she liked best and has
now has her pile in “her spot” in the family room.
Her favorite game is tennis ball fetch with my husband and we are
teaching her tug-o-war.
Like all dogs, she has funny
quirks, her latest habit that makes us chuckle is she insists on
running up and sitting on our feet every time we brush our teeth at the
bathroom sink. She has the
sweetest, most loving disposition and wants
nothing more than to cuddle, give kisses and go for walks. I
can’t imagine how she maintained such a sweet personality living
in that house with all those dogs. Like many rescues, she
needed a regular schedule, careful attention and work on housetraining,
but rewarded us with absolute devotion and love, making it all the more
worthwhile. Thanks to BTRNC, we are so glad to give Betty a
“forever home!” |

Parker (renamed Pork
Chop)

Our family has been waiting a long time
to find the right rescue BT to fit into our household--and it finally
happened!!!
We have had our sweet
Pork Chop for over a month now--and he has settled his happy big self
into our household. Spikey and Ozzie still aren't QUITE sure what
to make of their new brother but disputes are becoming fewer and far
between. The PC is quite a character and has come completely out
of his formerly shy self. His wagging nub and funny gait keep us
laughing.
My husband and Pork
Chopus Maximus continue their mutual admiration club--BTRNC's
description of the PC being a man's man was totally right on. He
gives his new Mommy lots of kisses, but demands to sleep on Richard's
side of the bed and pillow---and really with that loud snoring, Mommy
isn't complaining too much!
We have all found love
(okay Spike and Ozzie are not there yet) and couldn't be
happier!!
Our family is complete!
Thank you to BTRNC and
Pork Chop's fabulous Foster mommy!!!

Just want to thank you for everything-
Murphy has been such a great addition to our family. We
were all worried about picking the perfect dog for Molly, since she'd
been an only dog for so long, and we've done it! Molly comes barreling
out of the room during the day just to wait to see him. Her big
brother is her new best friend, and I'm so happy that things worked out
the way that they did. Even though Murphy thinks "sit" means
"roll over", you can tell how happy he is to have found a forever home,
and we're so happy that home is with us. I've attached a few pics
for you playing with his new sister.

Mattie
endears
herself
to
all
who
meet
her.
She is gentle and
sweet, and the source of
much laughter in our
home. She truly "goes with
the flow", and will
accommodate her family
in however they spend
their time. She often
sleeps with her tongue
sticking out; we have
taken numerous photos
of her this way! She
gets along beautifully
with her sister black labrador
and defers to her
seniority. She allows us to hold her
like a baby and will
sleep in our arms. Mattie has
made an incredibly
seamless transition, and we
couldn't have found a
more delightful canine!

Louie (renamed Nakotah) never actually
made it onto the website as being available because I snapped him up
the minute I saw him! His foster mom had come to deliver Jada
(renamed Maggie) to my parents and pick him up from another foster mom
to take back to Virginia with her. I met him briefly that day and
he stole my heart. He is settling in beautifully at my
house. I call him my clumsy clown. He loves everybody and
his favorite thing to do is to lay in my lap, on his back, and have his
belly rubbed. He loves my cat and every child he has met so
far. I am so grateful to BTRNC for bringing this beautiful boy
into my life!

Jada (renamed Maggie Mae)
For Mother's Day a little over
10 yrs. ago, our daughter surprised me with a 2.4lb. bundle of love and
I named her Lulu Belle. My husband already had a Boston (Muggsy)
and Lulu was all mine with plenty of love, spirit and fun for over 10
yrs. Lulu became very ill with several serious medical problems
and there was just nothing our vet could do. We had to let her
go.
Isn't it interesting and wonderful when events fall in place. Our
vet said she knew a lady who never had less than 3 Bostons at one time,
and she worked with Rescued Bostons. Would I like for her to call
us. Well, of course. Our vet talked to the BT owner and
told her about our loss. It's such a small world sometimes.
It seems this lady and I had met on 2 different occasions over the
years and we did remember each other.

Well, the ball
started rolling! My daughter and I had gone over the roster of
available dogs so many times that I think we had all the profiles
memorized. After going through the process, when I was asked if I
saw one on the web site that I was interested in, my answer was "Yes".
Maggie
Mae
looked
to
be
perfect
for
us.
Since
we
are
Seniors,
we
thought
it
best
to
go with a BT that was a little older rather than a pup.
The
day
Maggie
was
brought
to
our
home,
I
was
so
nervous.
Would
she
like
us
and
want to live with new parents? And I knew she was
very special to her foster mother, so could she make that change?
The
minute
she
ran
up
to
me,
I
was
in
love
again.
I
couldn't
wait
to
see
Maggie’s reaction to Muggsy. He is almost 13 years
old, almost blind, deaf, and is losing the use of his back legs due to
arthritis. Maggie and Muggsy were friends from the first meeting
and this was one happy granny.
Maggie
Mae
is
now
the
center
of
our
attention...or
at
least
she
tries
to
keep
it
that
way. She has a way of getting us to do exactly what she
wants us to do. She is a keeper!
Thank
you
BTRNC
for
bringing
this
wonderful
young
lady
into
our
lives.
After
seeing
in
depth
the
way the BTRNC works, I would not hesitate to
help that group and if we are ever in the position to make a loving
home for another Boston we plan to keep your number handy.

Maizey
It's been a while since we last spoke, but I wanted to let
you all know that little Maizey has got the best life a dog can have,
and we love her very much. She is very sweet, and always makes us
laugh. She isn't the smartest dog in the world (don't tell her I told
you that), but she sure is one of the best (she is tied for best dog
with Lucy, our other boston)! I have included a some pictures of Maizey
so you can see how much of a queen she is in our home.
THANKS for bringing her to us!

Brantley

|
We just adopted Brantley approximately
two weeks ago and he fits in so well with our family. It's like
he has been with us forever. We are so fortunate to have found
him. He is so well behaved and gets along with our cat and every
other dog he meets. Thanks BTRNC for opening your homes and for
doing what you do to save Bostons and to find families for them.
It must have been fate that we found each other. He is
awesome!
Thanks, Jennifer Dillon
