Robert Bain Hicks
|
Mr. Hicks, 73, of Charlotte, died at 7:24 AM Saturday, July
25th, 2009, at Carolina Medical Center Mercy. His funeral will be 1PM
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, with
Rev. Sarah Kalish officiating. Burial will be in Palmerville Cemetery.
Mr. Hicks was born October 15, 1935, in Stanly County, NC, the son of
the late Ray Eddins Hicks and Eva Burleson Hicks. He was educated at
UNC-Chapel Hill, graduating in the Class of 1958. He was a retired
employee of Consoweld Corp. and a member of Cokesbury United Methodist
Church. He was an entrepreneur who spent his life helping others. He
was a caring man who took pride in motivating others to achieve
excellence in their lives and careers. He was an avid reader who
enjoyed life and loved his family. He was also a former member of the
Air National Guard. He was married to Barbara Daniels Hicks of the home
who survives. Other survivors include 2 sons, Russell Bain Hicks and
wife Laurie of Charlotte and Reade Brendan Hicks of Fort Mill, SC; and
1 daughter, Robin Chandler, and her husband Mark of Charlotte. A
brother, Ray Eddins Hicks, preceded him in death.
