Sponsor a Boston Terrier in Foster Care

With veterinary bills in the thousands each month, BTRNC cannot rely solely on adoption fees and fundraisers to make ends meet.  We must look to a community of compassionate animal lovers and ask for help. Please make a donation- no amount is too small- and support our mission to make a difference one dog at a time.  Donations will be applied to the veterinary fees of the foster dog you choose to sponsor. In the unlikely event that the dog's donations exceed the cost of veterinary care, your donation will be used to help another Boson Terrier in need.

Routine veterinary care includes vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, microchip and spay/neuter. Many of our foster dogs require more intensive veterinary care- we will post this information as applicable.

Here's how it works:

  • Select one dog or several dogs that touch your heart

  • Click on the link and make a donation through PayPal

  • Include a message for the dog you are sponsoring

  • We'll post your message and your name as our 'thank you'

BTRNC is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible

Please use this PayPal link to sponsor the dog of your choice.

*Remember to include the name of the dog  you want to sponsor in the message box.

Pugsley
pugsley

Pugsley resides in one of BTRNC’s permanent Foster Homes because he has heartworms and for his age of ten years old, is in poor condition. He showed up during a storm infested with worms and fleas, dirty and scared. After exhausting many efforts to find his owners, we have placed him into our Sanctuary program so that he may live out his life safe and secure. Pugsley loves going for walks, giving kisses and playing with his "cat in the hat" toy. Judging from the scars on his head and ears, Pugsley has not an easy life. He will seek the comfort of his Foster Mom's bed when he hears fireworks, thunderstorms or other loud noises. His past has not kept him from being loving and thankful to his Foster Mom though and he snorts like a little piggy when he is happy! Pugsley would love for you to help him out by sponsoring some of his medical treatments- he'll be happy to send you a little "snort, snort" to thank you!

Penguin
penguin's tumor
penguin after surgery
Penguin resides in one of our permanent foster homes because she has cancer. Penguin was left at a shelter to die with a very large mammary tumor which we had removed and once the biopsy results came back, we learned that she has two forms of malignant tumors. The vet does not think she will survive treatment so Penguin will be made as comfortable as possible until she crosses over the Rainbow Bridge.  Penguin deserves to know compassion and caring in her last days... It has been two months since Penguin's surgery and cancer or not- she is enjoying life! She loves to play and snuggle! Her surgery as you might imagine was very costly and if you like to donate to her medical expenses, please do.

Sassie

sassie

Sassie resides in one of BTRNC’s permanent Foster Homes because she has numerous health concerns including heartworms. She is somewhere between twelve and fourteen years old and also suffers from partial deafness, blindness, dementia, incontinence, and seizures. She follows her Foster Family around from room to room so she can rest in whatever room they are in! Despite Sassie's bad health, she has an amazing personality and she loves attention.  If you start petting her you had better plan on sticking around for a while because she will let you know if you stop too soon! Sassie still has some spark for life and deserves a safe and secure place to lay her head for the rest of her days. Sassie would love for you to help sponsor her Sanctuary care.

Maddie

maddie

Maddie resides in one of BTRNC’s permanent Foster Homes because she has Cushing’s Disease that requires bi-weekly medication. She pants a lot and has excessive thirst because of her disease. Maddie also has a cataract in one eye and some arthritis. This elderly lady is best friends with her female canine sibling at her Foster Home and they get along fabulously and even snuggle together! It's hard to believe that Maddie is now fifteen years old- when she is feeling her “oats” she likes to "boss" the Boston Terrier next door or lunge at the larger dogs at the dog park! She’s still got some “fight” in those old bones! Maddie is spoiled and sleeps in the big bed with her Foster Parents where she “unmakes” the bed to get under the covers! She loves “sweet talking” and to kiss and snuggle with them too! Maddie still plays with toys that squeak and chews on bones. This spunky girl is very smart and knows how to scratch her own back by running the length of the couch and she likes to pretend like she is a bull getting ready to charge and will scratch at the the carpet with her front legs while looking around to see if her people are paying attention to her! Maddie is a gray faced girl with little white eyelashes, her Foster Mom says she looks like a baby seal when she puts her ears back! Maddie is very lucky to have a Foster Family that loves and spoils her every day and gives her all the comforting she needs during those very scary thunderstorms! Maddie is hoping that you can help keep her in the lifestyle she’s become accustomed to by becoming her sponsor.

Fifi

fifi

Fifi resides in one of BTRNC's permanent Foster Homes. Over a year ago she was rescued from a shelter. Her feet were drawn up to her stomach and she could not stand or walk. She was heartworm and hookworm positive and thought to be over ten years old but after a year of a "slow kill" treatment, she is now free of heartworms! Because of the way her legs were, she could not wear a diaper and her Foster Mom became very concerned because she did not eliminate for two days. Her Foster Mom was taking her outside and holding her back end up for her and finally...success! After getting to know Fifi a little better, she quickly found out that Fifi was so perfectly housetrained that she would not soil her bedding even if she couldn't walk! After a thorough vet check, her age was determined to be closer to six or eight but all her other issues were correct. The vet was unable to determine if her apathy in her legs resulted from a birth defect or an injury so she was placed on prednisone. In two or three weeks, she was able to stand and took her first steps...."magic" legs! After several weeks, her prednisone was replaced with NSAIDS and holistic treatments and Fifi could no longer walk again or move herself around in her crate so prednisone was started again at a very low dose. Fifi is now rather "fluffy" with the weight she has gained from the steroids but she can walk on her "magic" legs and goes in and out of the house by herself! She even "runs" at her own speed with the pack at her Foster Home and she frequently joins her Foster Mom in the "Mommy Bed", especially when a thunderstorm comes! Her quality of life is good right now that she is able to walk. She wants so badly to be "normal" even though she isn't. Fifi is so very sweet, loves to be loved, gives the sweetest kisses and she is very precious! Fifi would love for you sponsor her and her "magic" legs!

Lucy

Lucy
Lucy resides in a permanent Foster Home with BTRNC due to her being deaf, as well as having crippling arthritis and liver disease. Recently, Lucy had a grand mal seizure which led to a diagnosis of a brain tumor. Luckily, her Foster Family has experience with brain tumors so Lucy will have all the care she needs. We found Lucy after her family moved and left her deathly ill with pneumonia but thanks to excellent care, this easy going and sweet spirited girl is still going strong at fourteen! Lucy requires a home cooked diet for her liver and she would eat constantly if allowed! She takes medicine for her liver disease and arthritis. She is carried up and down the stairs to go outside as she is somewhat incontinent and has occasional gastric upset. Lucy passes the day away with a blankie and a soft bed snoring loudly. Lucy does not care to interact with her canine siblings but is quick to let them know if they are invading her space! She will still have a nice stretch of good days and even "run" short distances but then she will have stretches of bad days too. Her family says that Lucy fits in like she has been with them her whole life. The Sanctuary program here at BTRNC allows these "throw away" dogs a safe and secure place to lay their weary bones for whatever time they have left. Senior care is expensive and BTRNC can use all the sponsorship it can get. This program allows the very sick and forgotten a place to die with dignity and a family to love them until they do.

Kacie

Kaci has resided in one of BTRNC’s permanent homes for over three years now thanks to the generous sponsorship she has received. She has a grade four heart murmur, misaligned jaw, missing teeth and takes daily medications for a histiocytoma. She is beginning to also show some signs of incontinence when she gets afraid so she is kept on a strict outside schedule. Kaci is a very smart girl and completely housetrained so we know this is involuntary on her part. Kaci’s tongue hangs out of her mouth a lot which her Foster Mom says is adorable! Kaci lives with a male Boston Terrier named Winston that she loves to snuggle with and when she is not spending her days keeping him in line, you can find her under her Foster Mom's chair snoozing away. She also loves riding in the car- when she hears the keys jingle, she is the first one to the door! Kaci also loves burrowing in her blankies, giving kissies and taking a stroll around the local school yard. Kaci is very smart and knows the commands “sit”, “stay”, “come”, “leave it”, “off” and “in your crate”. She also knows the words “go/bye-bye”, “hungry/eat”, “treat/cookie” and “go outside”. Kaci would be happy to “send” you some kissies for your kind donation towards her continued care.

Oscar

oscar

Oscar resides in one of BTRNC's permanent Foster Homes because he has cancer. He has a zest for life and has put up an amazing fight against his illness. He has some good and some great days and on a great day, he has been known to con the neighbor out of a bellyrub or an extra breakfast! On a regular good day, he has quite the passion for meals and he will pull the tablecloth down so he can help himself to some cat food can leftovers from the recycling bag or he will turn over the trash can to see what goodness he can find there! He is a sweet, heartily snoring snuggle bug at night but is definitely mischievous during the day! Oscar still loves to lead his Foster Mom on mile long walks and if she is going in the car somewhere, so is he! He will shove past her insisting he needs to ride along! When he knows she is getting dressed to leave for work, he gets very sad and quiet but when his Foster Mom gets home, his welcome home greetings make her feel so special! She is very glad he came to live with her but wishes he didn't have such a talent for turning over trash cans! Oscar would love to have you send him some cat food cans but BTRNC would love to have your help with Oscar's medical bills.

Willis

willisWillis resides in a permanent BTRNC Foster Home. He has multiple serious eye conditions; endothelial degeneration, corneal lipid dystrophy, early cataracts, scarring from healed ulcers and has had two perforated corneal ruptures requiring surgery. Willis was also diagnosed with systemic mast cell disease almost a year ago and given three months at best to live with chemotherapy but his body was not strong enough to withstand the process, so we all thought he was on his way out but…Willis had an angel by his side, his Foster Mom, and a lot of TLC because he is still fighting to live! Willis overall is doing quite well except for some middle-aged balding! He still loves to nap in his favorite laundry basket and continues to be the apple of his Foster Mom’s eye. She says he is the same little spoiled rotten young man that you can't help but love! Willis follows her around the house and whines until she sits on the couch with him and at night he insists on being carried to bed! His Foster Mom does confess that she would carry him to bed every night because he is her sweet boy! Willis has to have extensive and expensive care at times but if would like to be his “angel” too, his Foster Mom would not mind.
