Foster Homes Needed NOW

Foster homes provide a safe and loving environment for a dog until a proper adoptive home is identified. BTRNC covers the cost of all veterinary expenses but asks that foster parents cover the cost of food, treats and toys. If you have experience with the breed and are willing to assist in the physical and/or behavioral rehabilitation of a neglected Boston Terrier, please visit read the Fostering section below and contact our Foster Coordinator.

Volunteer

We are a strictly non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to rescuing    primarily purebred Boston Terriers and secondarily Boston Terrier mixes. Volunteers are devoted to the health, well being and future of each dog. Below is a list of all the  aspects involved in rescuing these dogs. If you can help with any or all of them, PLEASE first email Bianka to request a volunteer application. Once your application has been received, you'll be invited to join our Yahoo Group.

Fostering

BTRNC cannot operate without foster homes. The fewer foster homes available, the fewer dogs we can save. Foster families agree to accept a dog into their home as one of their own, take it to the vet for any needed medical treatments (with the cost paid for by us!), nurture the dog, and get to know the dog well enough so BTRNC can write an accurate bio on the dog. You will find out, to the best of your ability, if the dog does well with other dogs, cats, children and adults. You'll report the dog's quirks, likes, dislikes and anything else someone would want to know about one of our dogs before choosing to adopt it. If this is something you are interested in, PLEASE don't hesitate to submit an application.  BTRNC pays all veterinary expenses for each of its foster dogs.

For more information about becoming a foster, please click here to view our newly revised FAQ's in MS Word format.

Serious inquiries, please email our foster coordinator Roberta for an application.

Transport

When a dog comes into rescue, we must arrange transport to the BTRNC foster home. We also help transport dogs to their new forever homes. We are always in need of volunteers who can help with transport on occasion.

Home Visits

We need more volunteers to do home visits in their area. A home visit entails visiting an applicant's home after their application has been successfully processed to meet the family. We are looking to see that what the family has told us about their home, yard and lifestyle is true. We want to meet existing pets to  give us a better idea of which of our Bostons would do best in that home.
