Chip-In for Virgil

virgil
I bet you'd never think that getting hit by a car would be considered a miracle. Well, for Virgil it proved to be his lucky day. Someone saw this poor boy lying by the side of the road and took him to the Animal Shelter. They saw that he was really injured including a broken pelvis and shattered femur.

They thought he was too injured and a strong candidate for euthanasia, but as a last resort called BTRNC. One of our volunteers went to the shelter and took him to the vet emergency room. He got all kind of tests, blood tests, and x-rays there and was determined he needed Pelvic and Femur surgery. The x-ray also saw bones and stones in his stomach that he had been eating as a stray on the street. Unfortunately it was Christmas and he would have to spend the weekend at the emergency vet before he could have surgery on Monday the 26th.

The vet said that he could go on to be a happy, loving dog after the surgery. As you can imagine, four days spent at the emergency vet plus surgery equals some big vet bills. Any amount you could donate would be a blessing to this boy.  Keep up to date on Virgil's progress at his Chip-In page:

January Auction Items:

This month's non Boston Terrier auction item is an amazing image taken in 1978 by Bernard (Bud) Konowitz now known as Shakti Ganapati Subramanian. The camera used was "Big Bertha" a Pentax 6x7 (6 x 7 centimeter format) single lens reflex camera.

The location was the beach in Long Beach, Long Island New York.
The objects sticking out of the sand are the wooden pylons and steel beams that once held up a large pier and over time the steel beams eroded leaving what resembles part of a skeleton.
The original slide no longer exists and so there is no other copy of this print.
It measures 22 1/2" x 26 1/2". The image is titled "Time". Thank you to Shakti for this donation!
Opening bid is $50. You may email your bids to btrnc@hotmail.com or post them on our Facebook page.
